The Simpsons in CSS: Cascading Style “Simpsons”

CSS is becoming more and more powerful and often with a bit of thought you can replace basic graphics with CSS.  The advantages of this are obviously better performance and graphics that scale.

Web developer Chris Pattle started, in the late last year, a project that renders characters from the TV show The Simpsons using CSS.  He first broke the characters down into simple shapes, as an artist may do when geometricizing a figure, and then tackled the more complex shapes and finishing touches.

You can follow the CSS side project onto Github. This is an incredible job!
