Most Expensive Buildings in the World
As a builder, Nova Insurance understand how difficult it is especially when your customer has some rather lavish ideas about their home that simply aren’t practical. Well here is a list of properties that you could have been building that are likely to be far more extreme than anything you have been asked to build.
1. Marina Bay Sands, Indonesia
It is one of the countries tallest buildings in Indonesia let alone Singapore as it stands at 194 metres. This is equivalent to 636 feet! It was designed by Moshe Safdie and in total it cost a huge $5.5 billion to construct. Not only is it a hotel but there are exhibitions that run throughout the year too! If you are after a lavish wedding well you are in luck, you can get married here. As you would imagine there are a number of locations within the building where you can have the ceremony including Southeast Asia’s largest ballroom.
2. Resorts World Sentosa, Indonesia
This building is only one quarter of the height of the Marina Bay Sands but still costs $4.93 billion although it is a resort and therefore a lot wider than the previous building. It was designed by Michael Graves. Again, there are attractions within the hotel including an aquarium! If you are looking for a pamper-filled stay there is a spa where you can have your troubles massaged away.
3. The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas
There are many big buildings in this part of the world but none as expensive as this one that was designed by Friedmutter Group with Arquiectonica. It is a very large building and is over 100 metres taller than the one below standing at 184 metres. It cost a total of $3.09 billion to construct. There are many events hosted here throughout the year and it is a popular performance venue for music artists.
4. Emirates Palace, UAE
Stands at 72.6 metres. It is situated in Abu Dhabi and was designed by Jon Elliot. It has six floors and cost a cool $3 billion to build. It was designed to be an iconic landmark that showed off Arabic culture and hospitality and it most certainly has achieved its goals. It plays host to world leaders as well as celebrities and business travellers.
5. Wynn Resort, Las Vegas
Next on the list is another Las Vegas giant that stands at 187 metres and cost $2.7 billion to build. Wynn Resort was designed by Butler/Ashworth Architects, Jerde Partnership and has a total of 45 floors. If you are looking to book a stay here you won’t be disappointed as there is a selection of shops, spas and salons for you to choose from. Not only this, but there are nightclubs and shows for you to take your pick from.
6. Venetian, China
Now no list is complete without one of China’s incredible buildings and the most expensive is the Venetian which is located in China. It is the tallest building on the list as it is a huge 255 metres tall and has 39 floors. It cost $2.4 billion to build and was the creation of Aedas. It was opened in 2007 and it has 2.900 suites for you to choose from.
